Our Story
Founder & Patriarch
1944 – 2020
Noah Rian Ulrich was born in Andersonstown, West Belfast, where his father owned a local garage. At the age of just 16, he joined and began building the family business, transforming it into one of the first garage chains in Northern Ireland — a venture he ultimately sold in the 1990s for €25 million ($31 million).
During the 1980s, Noah built an extraordinary portfolio of assets encompassing commercial buildings, retail stores and shopping centres across Dublin, Belfast, Cork and Limerick. He became the principal shareholder of the Jervis Shopping Centre — a former hospital he visioned and transformed into one of Dublin's most iconic retail destinations — and a key investor in Clarendon Properties. In 2017, AIB Real Estate Finance provided a €155 million loan to refinance the Jervis Shopping Centre.
In the 1990s, Noah turned his considerable energy toward building an international property business. His philosophy was focused: acquire properties with significant unrealised potential in key global locations, improve them with rigour, and hold the assets for the long term. His portfolio grew to encompass hotels, retail and commercial properties spanning Europe, the United States, Asia and Dubai. Led by Irish investor Derek Quinlan, Noah Ulrich was also among the investors in the storied Savoy Hotel Group.
Noah Rian Ulrich passed away in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving behind a legacy of vision, tenacity and an unwavering belief in the transformative power of property. His life's work — the estates, the partnerships, the communities he shaped — endures in every corner of the Rainrich Homes portfolio.
The Next Chapter
Upon Noah's passing, ownership and stewardship of Rainrich Homes passed to his only daughter and rightful heir, Michaela Ulrich — who has carried forward her father's spirit with intelligence, warmth and an uncompromising commitment to excellence.
Leadership
Chief Executive Officer & Owner
Born on 7 March 1980 in Walsum, Duisburg, to her German mother Elizabeth Wagner and her Irish father Noah Rian Ulrich, Michaela grew up between Germany and Belfast. She attended the prestigious Belfast Royal Academy before pursuing her education at the University of the West of England, where she obtained her certificate in ICU nursing — a discipline that instilled in her the precision, care and resilience she brings to every dimension of the business.
An avid hiker and passionate traveller, Michaela is as comfortable navigating the world's great cities as she is managing a global real estate portfolio. At 46, she is the sole heir to the Ulrich legacy and its hardest-working guardian. Her leadership of Rainrich Homes is defined by the same values her father embodied: integrity, vision and an unrelenting pursuit of the exceptional.
The Founding Family
Noah Rian Ulrich, born in Andersonstown, West Belfast, and Elizabeth Wagner, born in Germany — together they built not only a family but a legacy. Their partnership brought together the industrious spirit of Belfast and the precision and grace of Germany. Elizabeth's warmth and steadfast support were the quiet backbone of everything Noah built. Their only daughter Michaela carries both inheritances with pride: her father's daring vision and her mother's enduring elegance.
